Q&A: How to do well in an English Exam?
Q: There are so many different English classes, which one is right for my child?
A: At Edusteps, our programs are very straightforward; either you are taking English programs that aim at improving your English learning at school, and preparing you for school exams; or you are taking internationally recognized English programs that have international certification recognized overseas for further education abroad or recognition of higher level of English standard than what is taught at school. These are the 2 main types of English programs we offer to students in Kindergarten, Primary, High school, and Adult learning. We maintain our integrity and promise to not exagerrate on our abilities and improvements students can make, and we will do our best with every student parents entrust to us. A free tester is the best way for us to know the student’s current English level, and which areas we can help them improve.
Q: What do I need to do in order to get better in English
A: It can be a challenging topic because it involves multiple areas such as vocabulary understanding, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing. One can certainly understand why this can be challenging for students as a foreign language. Typically, we like to separate it into 5 key learning areas; Phonics helps with vocabulary and reading pronunciation. Grammar helps with gap filling exercises and cloze passages. Reading comprehension is continual training to ensure students can face English passages, read, find answers, and respond adequately. Writing class enhance students skills in write compositions within a time limit. Core competence English class is specifically made and target students struggling to understand what is taught in a large classroom setting. This class revises what is taught at school, simplifies the learning into concepts they need to grasp, and provides videos and worksheets for further revision at home.
Q: 為何要在昇學教育學英語? 昇學教育有何不同?
A: At EduSteps, we make a strong effort to implement an “inclusive, live and learn” teaching approach where our students are taught in a small class sized environment that comprises of a 2-way communication channel with teachers and students both sharing, explaining, and communicating with one another. We want to make sure no students are left behind, and we don’t overstate our abilities on what we can do. We will communicate with parents so they know what kind of learning we are providing the students, and we try our best to ensure our students understand what they are supposed to achieve. We do this through video clips we send to parents and students, and customized weekly lesson plans that target the needs of each student. We really try and go the extra step by having a teacher customize each week’s lesson plans for our students. Our lessons and what we are teaching are always relevant but dynamic and evolving as we try to stay as flexible and open to our students’ struggles and problems.
