13-15 years old (Introduction to App Coding),
16-18 years old (Advanced App Coding Development programme)
Time: 2 weeks, 2019 dates:

7th July - 20th July 2019
21st July - 3rd August 2019
4th Aug - 17th Aug 2019

18th Aug - 31st Aug 2019 (full)

Fee: $26500HKD/week, including:

20+ hours minimum tuition / week
Afternoon extracurricular activities and workshops
night time team games
1 day of excursions
School boarding and 3 meals
Transportation and pick up to and from Heathrow airport on Sundays
School books and study materials

$500 HKD application fee for:

Completion of all registration forms required by the University of Oxford
Completion of all forms required by the government of home and host country (additional fees as per home country for issuance of UK visa if your passport carrying country is not visa fee)
Issuance of school letter, enrollment letter, place of accommodation letter, and confirmation of care of minor letter in the United Kingdom as required by the Immigration of the United Kingdom

Introduction to App Coding

13-15 years old

This course focuses on the popular iOS application development and introduces students to the basics of Swift programming. By the time they leave the course, students will know how to design, build and publish their own iOS application.

A key aim of the iOS App Development summer course is to help students develop a passion for the field of computer programming and specifically for iOS mobile app development.

By providing students with an awareness of the entire mobile Application Development Life Cycle (ADLC), this course aims to fascinate students whilst providing a key insight into life as an app developer. For those keen to pursue this career path, the course also ensures a headstart in the key skill areas required to be successful.

By the time they leave the course, students will have:

Learned how to design, build and publish their own iOS application
Acquired full knowledge of the Application Development Life Cycle
Produced a working app
Presented their app to their peers for review

Advanced App Coding Development

16-18 years old

The course introduces students to the fields of computer programming and iOS mobile app development, exposing them to the computer science that lies behind app development and to the processes involved in the application development life cycle (ADLC). The course takes a hands-on approach to introduce basic programming concepts and skills needed for industry-standard app development projects.

Students then study how to design app interfaces from prototypes & wire frames using Sketch. Next comes an introduction to Xcode, the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for MacOS and programming with Swift, an object-oriented programming language.

The course concludes with exploring published apps on App store, usability testing exercises, project presentations and peer reviews of the apps created by students.

By the end of this course, students will have:

Produced a working iOS app for Apple devices
Learned strategies for problem solving
Successfully project planned and communicated ideas
Learnt to think creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively
Learnt about the application development life cycle from the basics of Swift to designing and developing user interfaces (UI) for apps
Discovered core iOS App Development to add functionalities to apps
Designed, developed and tested an iOS app
