• This academic course explores one of the most exciting and promising technologies of the 21st century, looking into the use and abuse of blockchain technology from multiple different perspectives

• Students enrolled on this course will learn about the societal impact this technology has already had, and the consequences its use may have in the future

• At the end of this course, students will have learned valuable new skills for analysing a complex and novel subject from a multidisciplinary perspective and will thoroughly understand blockchain technology, its uses and its ongoing impact on our society

Fee: $26500HKD/week, including:

• 20+ hours minimum tuition / week

• afternoon extracurricular activities and cultural workshops

• night time team games

• 1 day of excursions

• school boarding and 3 meals

• transportation and pick up to and from Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted airport on Sundays

​$500 HKD application fee for:

• Completion of all registration forms ​required by the University of Cambridge

• Completion of all forms required by the government of home and host country (additional fees as per home country for issuance of UK visa if your passport carrying country is not visa fee)

• Issuance of school letter, enrollment letter, place of accommodation letter, and confirmation of care of minor letter in the United Kingdom as required by the Immigration of the United Kingdom

• Boarding school with 24 hours live-in staff supervision

• Separate girls and boys dormitories

• Students may not go off campus at any time without staff and must be in their residence by 23:00 at the latest

• Weekly bed sheet change and laundry facilities

• All meals are enjoyed at the dining hall

• A full English cooked breakfast is available every day and a selection of hot dishes, in addition to the salad bar, is offered at lunch and supper time every day

• Mid-Day refreshments and nighttime drink and snack before bed

• Students will begin by looking into the technical and mathematical details of how the blockchain functions, as well as the other new technologies, such as greater data transfer and storage capacities, that have enabled blockchain to become viable

• Students will consider the myriad uses to which this technology can be put, from the positive uses - such as the charities using blockchain to ensure their donations reach the intended recipients, to the negative - such as those who use blockchain technology to enable organised crime

• Students will be encouraged to use blockchain as an example of how the technologies of the future may take us by surprise in the ways in which they affect our daily lives, and consider how those in positions of political, social and economic power should best respond to disruptive technology as it appears in future

• Students can also analyse the impacts of comparable technologies in the past to forecast where the further development of blockchain could take us
